A Tribute to Earnest
This photographic zine series is a heartfelt tribute to my Grandpa Earnest, a man who carried his Polaroid everywhere and taught me to see the beauty in the everyday. Through miniature dioramas and intimate photography, I explore the quiet poetry of memory, time, and the details that often go unnoticed.

Inspired by Grandpa Earnest’s visual legacy, this project reimagines his world in small-scale scenes that celebrate the ordinary as extraordinary. Each image captures a fleeting moment, a shared laugh, a reflection in time, and some of his favorite things. Through these familiar fragments, I reflect on how memory shapes identity and how small gestures become sacred over time.

Collaborating closely with interior designers and homeowners, we meticulously curated settings that celebrated the interplay of warm palettes. Every corner of the space, from lighting to decor, was scrutinized to evoke a sense of comfort and intimacy. This involved experimenting with different lighting scenarios to capture the golden hour's soft glow filtering through curtains or the dance of light on meticulously chosen furnishings.

In editing, I prioritized preserving the intimate, analog feel of his work, soft lighting, warm tones, and intentional framing. Sequencing the photos became a meditative act, allowing me to weave his legacy with my perspective. The result is more than a photo series; it's a quiet celebration of love, memory, and the simple moments that shape us.
